Skype and Yahoo! Messenger are services that allow you to make computer-to-computer, computer-to-mobile or computer-to-land-line calls over the Internet. Both services require that you buy credits or a subscription to make Internet-to-mobile phone calls. Skype is an independent service. Yahoo! Messenger is a part of the Yahoo! group of software applications. You can also use these services to send instant messages (IM) for free. Many mobile phones have IM capabilities. IM is a text-based way to have a real-time conversation with another person.
