Quick Media Converter
AMR, or Adaptive Multi-Rate, files are audio files optimized for speech encoding. AMR has become the standard file type for spoken audio files. Some mobile telephone handsets allow you to store spoken audio files in the AMR format. WMA, or Windows Media Audio, files are a more common audio format. You may want to convert your AMR files to WMA for compatibility with many popular audio players such as Windows Media Player or iTunes. A converter called WMA MP3 Converter allows you to easily convert AMR to WMA.
Instructions
1. Download and install Quick Media Converter. Unzip the downloaded files. If you're using Windows XP or later, right-click the file, and choose "Extract All."
Open the folder, and double-click "Install." Follow the prompts in the installation wizard to complete the installation. Be sure to choose your desired language during the installation.
2. Start Quick Media Converter. The program will automatically run after installation. You can also find it as a desktop icon or through your Start menu.
3. Click the green plus sign button to the left of the screen to browse for AMR files to add. You can also drag and drop files to the program. Add all the files you wish to convert, and ensure the boxes to the left of the file names are checked.
4. Click the speaker icon in the top row of buttons to choose the output format. Select "WMA."
5. Click the blue folder icon to the left of the screen to select the target directory in which to save your converted file.
6. Press the green and yellow circle arrows button at the bottom of the screen to start the conversion. If you hold your mouse over each button, you will receive a description of what the button does.
