Send email to an AT&T mobile phone.
You might be charged for each text message you send to an AT&T mobile phone number from your cell phone. You may also wish to send an email to an AT&T mobile phone while your cell phone is not functioning or not near you. Text messages can be sent to an AT&T mobile phone from any email account. Sending text messages to AT&T mobile phones via email will allow you to send text messages to AT&T numbers for free.
Instructions
1. Sign into the email account you'll be using to email the AT&T mobile phone.
2. Click in the "To" box (or "Recipient" box) on the email Web page.
3. Type in the AT&T mobile phone number inside the "To" box. Don't type in any spaces or dashes when entering the AT&T mobile phone number (For example "9899899898").
4. Enter "@txt.att.net" directly after the AT&T mobile phone number (For example "9899899898@txt.att.net").
5. Click inside of the "Message" box on the page. Then, type in the email you wish to send to the AT&T mobile phone.
6. Click "Send." The email will be sent as a text message to the AT&T mobile phone.
