Unlock A Nokia E66

Unlock a Nokia E66

The Nokia E66 is a quad-band Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) based cellular phone that was originally released in June 2008. The phone is normally sold by GSM cellular service providers with a carrier lock. This lock prevents using the phone with another cellular service provider's Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. It is, however, possible to unlock the Nokia E66. Once it is unlocked, you can use the Nokia E66 with the SIM card from any GSM cellular service provider worldwide.

Instructions

1. Remove the back cover and battery from your Nokia E66.

2. Locate the phone's SIM card. The SIM card is located in the SIM compartment under the battery.

3. Slide the SIM card out of the SIM card holder.

4. Replace the battery and back cover and power on the Nokia E66.

5. Contact your current cellular service provider and ask for the unlock code for your Nokia E66. If you have an active account that is in good standing, cellular service providers will generally give you the unlock code free of charge. If you are unable to get the unlock code from your current cellular service provider, you can also purchase the unlock code. (See Resources for vendors.)

6. Enter "#pw+CODE+7" using the keypad of your Nokia E66. Enter this sequence without the quotation marks and replace the "CODE" with the unlock code from Step #5. Press the "*" key three times to enter the letter "P." Press the "*" key two times to enter the "+" symbol. Press the "*" key four times to enter the letter "W." Your phone is now unlocked and will work with any GSM cellular service provider's SIM card.
