Reset Your Motorola W385 Security Code

Motorola cell phone

Your Motorola W385 cell phone comes with two default codes. The default for the four-digit "unlock code" is 1234. The default for the 6-digit "security code" is 000000. It is possible that your service provider changed these codes before you received the phone. The purpose of the unlock code is to unlock the phone's functions. The security code is a master code used for a broader range of features, including master reset and master clear.

Instructions

1. Press the center "select" button (the round button in the center of the navigation arrows).

2. Select the following sequence: "Settings," "Security," "New Passwords."

3. Select the type of code you want to change (security code or lock code).

4. Enter the old code when prompted. Then enter the new code.

5. Enter your security code to reset the unlock code, if you've forgotten the latter. If you've forgotten the security code, contact your service provider.
