Disable The System Sounds On A Motorola Q

The Motorola Q can play several sounds or nothing at all during system alerts.

The Motorola Q is a simple smartphone for Verizon, Sprint and Amp'd Mobile. The phone outputs sound through a set of stereo speakers at the rear of the unit. Like most phones, the Motorola Q plays no sounds in silent mode, so you can enter silent mode at any time to fully silence the phone. You can also individually disable system sounds while leaving your ringer on. These system sounds include tones for reminders, messages and the keypad.

Instructions

1. Press the Left Soft Key, which is the key below the screen's lower left corner, to open the phone's Start menu.

2. Press the navigation key to select "Settings," and then press the center key to open the Settings menu.

3. Press the navigation key to select "Sound," and then press the center key to open the Sounds menu.

4. Press the navigation and center key to select one of the system alerts. Select "None," and then press the center key to disable this system sound.

5. Repeat the process with all of the system sounds in the Sounds menu.
