Activating cellular service can be a trying experience. It usually involves going into a carrier's retail location, waiting in long lines for someone to help you only to be pressured to buy something you do not want. Fortunately, Boost Mobile has simplified and automated their activation process so that it can be completed over the internet. If you'd rather avoid a sales pitch and save precious time, you can now activate your phone entirely on-line.
Instructions
1. Choose a plan from BoostMobile's activation website (see Resources). Depending on the type of phone you have, select an appropriate plan from the three main options available. Once your plan details appear onscreen, click "Activate New Account."
2. Enter in the serial number of your phone. This number--referred to as the ESN or MEID--can be found on the white sticker located beneath the battery in your phone, then click "Start Activation Process."
3. Choose your phone number. On the following screen, you will be presented with different numbers available in your area. Select the one you want and click "Continue."
4. Enter in your credit card information. Because Boost Mobile is a prepaid service, you will need to pay for your monthly service upfront. Fill out the information fields entirely and then follow the onscreen prompts to complete your purchase.
5. Call the activation line from your cell phone. Enter in the PIN code displayed on the web site and wait for the activation process to complete. A confirmation message will be given by the automated voice on the line indicating that your services are now active.
