Resetting your cell phone security code can be done in a few easy steps.
Assigning a lock code to your phone is a convenient way to secure your personal information. A cell phone lock code limits who can make changes to your phone. If you are uncomfortable with someone having your lock code, resetting it frequently reduces the chances of your information being exposed. Make sure you reset it to something that you will remember, or write it down somewhere that no one can find it.
Instructions
1. Launch the "Options" or "Settings" menu on your cell phone.
2. Click on the "Security" option and select "Security Code" or "Password."
3. Select the option to change your code; the options will vary depending on the make and model of your phone. Press "Menu" and "Change Passwords" for most phones.
4. Enter your old password when prompted in the appropriate field followed by your new password when it is prompted.
5. Confirm the new password again and click "OK" to enable the changes.
