Get through to the fun and games.
Cell phones and PDAs come with many security devices to help protect your privacy. However, it may seem at times as if your cell is turning on you, locking you out of important information. Breaking through the levels of locking security and reclaiming control of your Nokia 6085 is possible. Determine why your phone is locked: a locked keypad prevents you from dialing any number other than emergency services. If you can use your keypad, then your SIM card is the likely culprit.
Instructions
1. If it's your keypad that's locked, you'll be talking in no time.
Unlock the keypad by selecting "unlock" and immediately pressing the asterisk key.
2. A security keypad is a more advanced keypad locking feature.
Enter the security code when prompted. If you have not yet used a security code, the factory setting code is 12345. To change your code, go to "Menu," "Settings," "Security," "Access codes." Enter your desired code.
3. New SIM cards often require activation via security code.
Press "Menu," "Settings," "Security," "Access codes." This allows you to check and change the PIN, UPIN, or PIN2 codes that protect new SIM cards from unauthorized use. These codes are supplied with the SIM card and may be required for many security functions.
4. As a last resort, restoring factory settings should resolve the problem.
Restore factory settings without losing your contact information by pressing "Menu," "Settings," "Restore factory settings," and entering your security code.
