Nokia has come a long way from its roots in the paper, rubber and cable industries that dates back to the 19th century. The company entered the mobile phone industry in 1992 with the introduction of the Nokia 1011, which helped pave the way for future mobile phone models, such as the Nokia 7373.
Dimensions, Display and Power
Released in 2007, the Nokia 7373 measures 3.5 inches long, 1.7 inches wide and 0.9 inches thick and weighs 3.7 oz. The phone opens by twisting the display portion of the phone 180 degrees upwards. Its 2-inch thin-film transistor screen displays 256,000 colors at 240 by 320 pixels of resolution. When fully charged, the phone's standard lithium-ion battery provides up to 250 hours of standby and up to two hours and 30 minutes of talk time.
Internal Components
With 8MB of built-in memory, the Nokia 7373 features a microSD card slot for up to 2GB of expanded memory. The phone is capable of 2G network connectivity using the Global System for Mobile Communications 900, 1,800 and 1,900 frequency bands. Internet connection is made using a Wireless Application Protocol 2.0/xHTML browser. Pre-installed games on the 7373 include Sudoku and Music Guess. The phone contains a built-in stereo FM radio, a digital audio player and a digital camera.
Camera, Messaging and Connectivity
The Nokia 7373 is equipped with a 2-megapixel digital camera that captures images at 1,600 by 1,200 pixels of resolution. The camera is capable of quarter common intermediate format video recording. The phone supports text messaging, Multimedia Messaging Service and email messaging formats. Text messages contain text only and MMS messages may include pictures or voice. With Bluetooth technology, the phone also provides hands-free calling. The Nokia 7373 connects to a computer through a USB port.
Miscellaneous
Available in Powder Pink, Bronze Black and Black Chrome colors, the Nokia 7373 features twin stereo speakers with stereo widening technology. A variety of file formats are supported by the phone's digital audio player, including MP3 and Advanced Audio Coding (AAC). Several Java-based applications come with the phone, such as predictive text entry, voice memo, voice-activated dialing and organizer software. Phone alerts include vibrating mode and polyphonic, MP3 and AAC ring tones. The 7373 can hold up to 1,000 contacts in its phone book and provides records of up to 20 dialed, received and missed calls. Printing from the phone is achieved through the phone's USB connection using PictBridge technology.
