A Virtual Private Network (VPN) will allow you to send and receive files securely over a wireless network. Many businesses and colleges use VPNs to protect their workers and students from intrusions. You can also connect to a VPN by way of your pocket PC. Follow these steps to connect an HP iPAQ to a virtual private network.

4. Under the heading "Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using," select "My work network." This will set up a special setting for private connections.
