Look for the lock symbol on your phone's keypad.
You can stop your phone from accidentally making unwanted phone calls by locking the keypad before putting your phone in your pocket or purse. Each make and model of cell phone has a different type of keypad lock, but they are fairly simple to determine. Usually, you need to press a combination of keys or perform a task on the touch pad, if your phone has one.
Instructions
1. Press the correct key combination. This is determined by the make and model of your phone. On many BlackBerries and some other phones, you generally press the "Send" key in conjunction with the star or asterisk key. Other phones may require that you press "Send" and pound key or another combination.
2. Press the "Select" key and then use the touch screen. For example, on the iPhone, you can press the main home button and then use your finger to drag the slider on the touchscreen over to unlock the phone. On the Droid Incredible, you can activate the screen and if you have the pattern password system enabled, you use your finger to draw the pattern on your screen.
3. Enter your password. After activating the screen, if you have an alphanumeric password, enter it to unlock the phone.
