Unlock your Nokia 6080.
You may travel a lot for business or pleasure, or perhaps you are moving to a different country entirely. Whatever the case may be, there is no need for you to purchase a new phone if you know unlock it. With the right code, you can enjoy the flexibility of using a SIM card from any carrier whether you are at home or abroad.
Instructions
1. Locate the serial number on your phone. This is also known as the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). It may be called the ESN (Electronic Serial Numbers) or MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifiers) as well, depending on the year that your phone was manufactured. You can find this number by typing in *#06#. You can also slide open the back cover, take out the battery and find the number printed on the casing. It will be a 15-digit number.
2. Find a website where you can download the unlock codes. Some of these are free, but for others you will have to pay a fee of $19.95 or more as of 2010.
3. Enter your serial number into the website where it says "IMEI."
4. Click on the drop-down box that says "Country and Network" and find the country where you live and the phone network that you use.
5. Go to "Phone Maker" and click on Nokia. Go to "Model" and click on 6080.
6. Click on the "Generate a Code" button. Some sites will produce a code immediately. Others will send it to you via email. Whatever the case, enter the code exactly as you see it. When you are finished, you should get a message that says something like "SIM is not restricted" or "Restriction off." If you don't the first time, then try entering another code.
