Remove the Cover on an iPhone
The iPhone appears less flimsy than other cell phones - it consists of two solid pieces of plastic and metal with a thick screen - but you will see what it's really made of when it goes through the "drop test," which normally entails human error and a hard surface. If the screen cracks or something on the inside of the iPhone is damaged, you can do some work on it yourself instead of sending it back to Apple (they may say "That's your fault!") or paying somebody else to work on it.
Instructions
1. Turn off the iPhone.
2. Locate the SIM card at the top of the iPhone and insert the end of a paperclip into the SIM card release button to eject it from the iPhone. Pull the SIM card retainer (with the card) out of the device.
3. Pry apart the antenna cover at the bottom of the iPhone with the flat-head screwdriver. Take the cover off the iPhone.
4. Pry apart the back cover by guiding the flat-head screwdriver along the separating line between the front and back covers of the iPhone. When the back cover is apart from the front cover, flip the back cover off the iPhone, but be careful because a flat cable that goes to the motherboard connects the two covers.
5. Disconnect the flat cable from the front cover to completely separate the two sides of the iPhone.
