There are a variety of reasons an LG cell phone keypad may be difficult to unlock. If the keypad is locked and no specified passcode was entered, you may be able to unlock it by using the last four digits of the phone's assigned phone number. This is the default setting. Also, the primary user can specify a unique passcode for the phone, which would mean the user is the only person who can unlock the phone. Finally, if neither of these instances are the case, take the phone to your cell provider for technical assistance so they can determine whether they should force an unlock or not.
Instructions
1. Power the phone on and select the "OK" button. This will trigger the phone to ask for the password.
2. Press "OK." Sometimes this is simply all it requires. If not, move on.
3. Enter the last four digits of the phone's number. If this doesn't work, continue to the next step.
4. Enter "#4357" or "*4357." "4357" stands for "LOCK" on a traditional telephone's alphabetic keypad translation. This is the default unlock code for certain LG telephones.
5. Take the phone to the nearest store of the service provider. If they can determine that you are the rightful owner of the phone, they have a variety of tricks and tools they can use to overpower the phone and unlock it themselves.
