Disassemble Nokia 6133 Phone

The Nokia 6133 is a basic mobile phone used primarily on the T-Mobile service network. It has basic Web access and multimedia capabilities. The phone features a flip phone design with a 320-by-240-pixel TFT screen. Dismantling your Nokia 6133 allows you to replace, repair and troubleshoot important components inside your phone. Be aware that disassembling your phone will void your phone's active service warranty.

Instructions

1. Turn off your phone. Close the flip screen and place the phone facedown. Remove the plastic battery cover and the battery from its compartment inside the phone. Loosen all Torx screws from the back of the phone. Carefully remove the back housing from the phone to reveal the main circuit board.

2. Disconnect the main ribbon cables from the exposed circuit board. Loosen the Torx screws fastening the circuit board in place. Lift the board out of the phone, and unplug the ribbon cables from the opposite side of the circuit board. Remove the board from the phone.

3. Place the phone faceup so the top side of the LCD screen is facing you. This is the side of the screen that displays the phone's digital clock when the phone's flip screen is closed. Insert a credit card or similar item into the gap along the outside edge of the LCD screen's front cover. Pry the front cover from the phone to reveal the screen.

4. Unplug the two ribbon cables from the green circuit board outlining the screen. Grasp the circuit board and lift straight up to disconnect it from the phone. Remove the circuit board and set it aside. Disconnect the LCD screen's main ribbon cable from its connector above the upper left corner of the screen. Lift the screen out of the phone.
