Use The Tmobile Wing As A Wireless Modem

Modern phones like the T-Mobile Wing have the capability to be used as a wireless modem to connect other computers nearby to the Internet, just like a router and cable or DSL modem connection. Cell phone providers now offer 3G compatibility, which is comparable to the swiftness of high speed Internet service. So instead of constantly searching for a mobile WiFi hotspot or unsecured connection when you travel, you can just use your T-Mobile phone wireless connection.

InstructionsSet Up My Connection Manually>Connect Using a Dial-up Modem."

3. Set the dial-up number as *99#. No login information is required with this type of connection so don't worry about the prompt asking for a user name and password, just press "Finish."

4. Go back to your control panel and select "Phones and Modem Options." On the tab "Modems" select the cell phone modem and then click "Properties>Advanced." Type in the following code minus the quotes: "at+cgdcont=1,"IP",[[APN]]"---replace APN with the address of your T-mobile connection provider's website (usually internet3.voicestream.com, internet2.voicestream.com or wap.voicestream.com). This code will allow you to connect into the T-Mobile Internet service.

5. Select the new network connection under your wireless connections list and wait for it to dial into the service.
