Formatting your N71 restores the operating system and erases all settings.
The Nokia N81 features the N-Gage mobile gaming software and includes a music store, FM radio and video calling capabilities. It uses the Symbian OS 9.2 operating system and has both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. If you notice that your phone seems slower or freezes up when you perform tasks, you may want to format your phone. Formatting your phone performs a hard reset of the operating system and erases all data on the device.
Instructions
1. Turn off your N81. Press and hold the green "Answer" button, the "*" key and the "3" key.
2. Press the power button as you hold the buttons to turn on the phone.
3. Release all buttons when "Formatting" appears on the screen. Follow the prompts on the "Welcome" wizard after the formatting completes to reconfigure your phone's email, settings and to transfer content. Select "Settings Wizard" to configure email or select "Switch" if you want to transfer content from another device.
