Placing your phone on silent will remove any ringer noise.
Placing your mobile phone on "silent mode" is useful if you do not wish to be disturbed. It also avoids interruption if you are in a meeting, movie theater, doctor's office or other location/event. You can make the phone completely silent or you can still be aware of incoming calls by setting the phone to "vibrate mode." Vibrate makes a small humming sound when calls are received but has no distinct ringer. Placing your phone on silent will completely remove any ringtone or other ringer noise.
Instructions
1. Inspect your phone for buttons located on the sides of the phone body. Many mobile phones allow for camera activation, speaker phone use and volume-control changes with the use of designated buttons. This can include up or down buttons for volume control. Phones such as the Motorola Cliq have a ringer-off switch.
2. Click the down button to change the phone's master volume to "Vibrate Only" or "All Sounds Off." If your phone has a ringer-off switch, slide down the switch to silent mode.
3. Click the phone's menu button. For phones with visual displays, go to the menu and scroll or page to the phone's settings. Select the phone's sound settings or call sounds. Choose no ring, silent or vibrate.
