Nokia 6288 Features

The Nokia 6288 is a slider-style mobile phone with a display screen that slides up to reveal a standard keyboard. Available in black or silver, the 6288 came out in 2006. The 6288 operates on the 900, 1,800 and 1,900 GSM bands, so you need a SIM card to make calls and send messages with the phone.

Screen and Battery

The Nokia 6288 has an LCD display screen that measures 2.2 inches diagonally. All images are displayed at a resolution of 240-by-320 pixels. The screen uses TFT technology and shows up to 256,000 different colors. The phone has a lithium ion battery with a capacity of 1,100 milliamp hours. The battery lasts up to four hours and 30 minutes of constant usage or 10 days and 10 hours in standby mode.

Storage and System

The phone has six megabytes of internal storage, though that number can be increased up to 512 megabytes with a miniSD memory card. The phone book has room for up to 500 contacts. You can list multiple phone numbers for each contact. The most recent 20 calls you received, missed and made are all tracked by the phone. You can also perform video calls so that you and the person you call can see one another.

Media

The 6288 has a 2.0 megapixel digital camera with an LED flash so you can get quality photos regardless of lighting. All images are taken at a maximum resolution of 1,600 pixels by 1,200 pixels. The camera also has eight levels of digital zoom and records video. The phone's media player plays back MP3, AAC, M4A and eAAC+ audio files. MPEG4 and 3GP video files are also supported. The 6288 plays FM radio stations as well.

Internet and Other Features

The Nokia 6288 can connect to a GPRS network at a maximum speed of 48 kilobytes per second (kbps) or a Class 10 Edge network at speeds up to 236.8 kbps. The phone gets a top speed of 384 kbps on a 3G network. The phone is Bluetooth 2.0 compatible so you transfer files between devices and hook up to wireless headsets. The 6288 has an organizational calendar and a voice dialing feature.
