Call From Chrome

Google Chrome allows you to place calls from your computer browser if you use Chrome and download the correct extension. This feature allows you to both talk from your computer or dial from your computer and talk on your mobile phone. Before making your first call, you'll need to download the extension and sign up for a Google Voice account. Then you can place a call for free anywhere within the U.S. and Canada.

Instructions

1. Sign up for a Google Voice account via the Google Voice home page. Click the blue "Get Started" button and follow the directions to set up your account.

2. Navigate to the Google Chome web store by opening a new window or tab and selecting "Web Store." Search "voice" in the box at the right of the screen. Select "Google Voice (by Google)" from the "Extensions" section.

3. Click the blue "Install" button at the right of the page. The call button appears at the top right of the screen. Click it and type in the number you want to call.

4. Select the phone you'd like to call with. It will dial from the phone you signed up with under your Google Voice account if you choose "Mobile." It will dial from your computer if you choose "Google Talk."
