The T-Mobile HTC Wing smartphone provides users with a mobile office suite, Internet browser and a two-megapixel digital camera. These features typically run well, but with a software upgrade, they'll run even better. As of March 2011, the latest upgrade is ROM version 4.26.531.1. This upgrade fixes issues with the phone's memory, as well as enhances overall stability. Once you have backed up any important files on the phone, installation takes just a few minutes.
Instructions
1. Back-up all of the files you want to save to a MicroSD memory card. Alternatively, connect the Wing to your computer with a USB cable and transfer the desired files there. When the update is performed, all of your data is deleted, so back-up the files that you want to keep.
2. Download Windows Media Device Center if you don't already have it on the computer.
3. Connect the Wing to your computer through a USB cable. Download the update. Before beginning the download, you are asked to enter your T-Mobile phone number for verification. After this, click "Save" in the File Download window.
4. Click "Save As," then click the "Save In" menu. Click "Desktop." Type "T-Mobile Wing MSFP Upgrade" in the "File Name" box, and click "Save."
5. Double-click the downloaded file on your desktop, then click "Next" in the new window. Click the checkbox, then click "Next." Do the same on the following window, then click "Next" until the update begins.
6. Wait about 10 minutes for the upgrade to complete. You will receive a message when the process is complete.
