Get A Phone Flashed

Have a retailer flash your phone.

Flashing a mobile phone is the procedure of having the phone's firmware altered to remove glitches and bugs in the previous or current firmware package. The process of flashing a phone is simple, requiring nothing more than a trip to a retail cell phone store and research.

Instructions

1. Research what firmware is best for your phone. Mobile phone forums are a popular way of finding out which firmware is best for your specific phone model. Once you find the most popular firmware model number write it down. You will need the exact firmware version number.

2. Call an authorized cell phone to find out when they are free to flash your phone.Ask questions prior to the process to ensure you get the right firmware added to the phone. Remember to ask about fees associated with flashing a phone.

3. Take your cell phone and USB cable as well as the firmware number to an authorized cell phone retailer. The retailer will explain what flashing your cell phone will do. While in the store make sure to ask about the company's policy regarding problems with the update. Some phones are prone to "bricking" when flashed and thus you should find out if the company covers this type of problem.

4. Give your phone to the retailer and tell them which firmware you would like placed on the phone. At this point the retailer will take the phone in the back and tell you to either come back for it later or wait around while the phone is flashed. Most of the time the process will only take 15 to 20 minutes.
