Setting up Blackberry email requires a Blackberry data plan.
Just a few years ago a Blackberry was something that was too expensive for an average cell phone user to possess. Blackberries were primarily used by businesspeople who had a need for the email applications and the personal assistant programs. These smartphones were bulky and were among the first to have a full keyboard. Recent changes have made the Blackberry affordable on nearly any budget and many more people have them today. The Blackberry Curve 8300 series (8310-8390) is among the more popular Blackberries.
Instructions
1. Press the "Blackberry" or "Menu" key on your Blackberry Curve 8310.
2. Scroll to and select "Email Settings." Your Blackberry will connect to your service provider's Email Settings page online.
3. Scroll to and click on "Add" to add an email address to your Blackberry. If this is the first email account you are adding to your Curve, the browser will probably open the "Add" option for you.
4. Choose and click on the email service you will be using when the "Email Setup" page opens. Among the options are Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL and many others. If your email provider is not among the choices, you will need to enter the email server details manually. These details can only be provided by your email provider (such as Time Warner or Cox), and they will be able to walk you through email setup for any Blackberry phone.
5. Enter your email address and email password on the next "Email Setup" page. Once this is done, click "Next." Your Blackberry will now say something like "Processing" or "Connecting," depending on your service provider. A screen will then open that says "Setup is complete" or "Email activation was successful."
