Learn to replace the LCD on a Nikon Coolpix 7600 camera.
Many things can cause camera LCD malfunction on your Nikon Coolpix 7600 digital camera. You may have exposed the camera to too much moisture. You may have accidentally poured liquid on the camera. Or, you may simply just dropped it and cracked the screen. Whatever the case, purchasing a new LCD screen and replacing it yourself will save you time and money. Camera technicians are expensive, and you can buy a new LCD and do the job yourself.
Instructions
1. Power down the camera, open the battery door located on the bottom side of the camera and slide the battery out of its compartment.
2. Remove the single Phillips-head screw fastening the memory card door next to the battery compartment on the bottom side of the camera. Slide the memory out of the compartment.
3. Pry off the panel on the left-hand side of the camera with a flat-head screwdriver. Be extremely careful not to damage the casing beneath the plastic case.
4. Remove the three exposed Phillips-head screws by the side plastic covering. Use a thin piece of hard plastic, like a guitar pick or credit card, to pry the rear case and LCD cover from the back side of the camera. Start at one corner of the rear casing and work your way around the camera's casing until the LCD cover pops off. Set the covering aside.
5. Lift the LCD panel slightly out of its compartment. Use a plastic spudger to disconnect the LCD ribbon cable from the camera's circuit board located behind the LCD screen. Remove the old LCD screen and set it aside.
6. Repeat the previous steps in reverse to install the new LCD screen and reassemble the camera.
