Upload Pictures From A Samsung Cell Phone To Windows 98

Transferring photos from a cell phone to a Windows 98 computer presents special challenges. With newer versions of Windows, you can simply plug the phone into the USB port, or even transmit the photos wirelessly over Bluetooth. Windows 98 does not have native support for any of these functions. There are a few ways to get around the operating system's limitations so you can enjoy your photos on your PC.

Instructions

1. Upload your pictures to your cellular carrier's photo website. Most cellular providers offer an online photo upload service. Once you have uploaded your photos, you can open the website on your Windows 98 PC and download the pictures. The instructions vary depending on your phone and carrier, so check your phone's manual or call your carrier for instructions.

2. Email your pictures from your phone. All Samsung Smartphones support email, and many of the regular phones allow you to send emails as well. Open the messaging application and look for an option to compose an email.

3. Attach the phone to the computer using a USB cable. Depending on the type of phone, you may need to install a USB driver. Some older Samsung phones don't support USB data transfer.

4. Transfer your photos to the memory card, then remove the card and insert it into a USB flash card reader. Install the driver software, then insert the flash card reader into an open USB port on the computer. Open "Start" and click "My Computer," then double-click the flash drive.
