Change Your Skype Ringtone

Skype is a free software program that utilizes your existing Internet connection to place calls. Skype users can opt to subscribe to additional services, such as SMS messaging or the ability to make calls to landline phones. When you receive an incoming call on Skype, a special ringtone alerts you of the call. You can change the ringtone to a WAV file that is already saved on your computer.

Instructions

1. Double-click the "Skype" icon on your computer's desktop, or click the "Start" button and select "Skype" from the "All Programs" menu.

2. Click "Tools," then select "Options." Click the "General" tab.

3. Click "Import Sounds." Select a WAV file to add to your Skype sound. The file size cannot exceed 1.5 MB. Wait for the file to be imported.

4. Check the "Ringtone" box in the "Select Which Events Play a Sound" section.

5. Select the imported ringtone from the "Choose Which Sound to Play" drop-down list. Click "Save" and the ringtone will be changed to the new sound.
