Honda Civic Si Specifications

The Honda Civic Si was first introduced in 1984. The 2011 Civic Si is an economy performance model from automobile manufacturer Honda, competing with the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Mini Cooper S and the Subaru WRX.

Engine

The Civic Si's engine is designed for performance in mind. The engine produces 197 horsepower and 139 ft.-lb. of torque. The engine spins up to 8,000 rpm at which point the RPM limiter cuts power. The compression ratio of the pistons is 11:1, making this a high-compression engine requiring premium gas.

Suspension

The Civic Si has a stiff MacPherson strut suspension in the front and a multi-link suspension in the rear. The car also comes standard with a limited-slip differential (LSD). An LSD is a type of differential used for performance driving. It sends the power to the wheel with the most grip under slippery conditions, as oppose to the wheel with the least grip on non-LSD cars.

Miscellaneous

The Civic Si has a six-speed manual transmission, with the sixth gear being an overdrive for highway cruising. The Si comes standard with 17-inch wheels and all-season tires. Also standard is a 350-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with seven speakers and a subwoofer. The audio system has MP3 compatibility through CDs, as well as an MP3 auxiliary jack and a USB audio interface.
