The keypad on your Nokia E63 cell phone comes equipped with light-sensing technology. That means the phone itself can detect whether there is enough ambient light in the room for you to properly view the keypad. If there isn't, the keypad light comes on. But if your keypad lights aren't working at all, regardless of ambient light conditions, certain components may need cleaning.
Instructions
1. Turn on your Nokia E63 and turn the unit over. Slide the back battery door down and off the unit to expose the battery inside.
2. Remove the battery from the compartment. The SIM card will now be visible in the battery compartment.
3. Slide the SIM card out of the battery compartment, being careful not to touch the connection tabs on the card.
4. Use your microfiber cloth to wipe the gold connectors at the top of the battery compartment. Wipe the connectors on the battery and SIM card as well.
5. Replace the SIM card, battery and battery door. The keypad should now function properly.
