Bluetooth wireless technology allows you to make short-range wireless connections between your Samsung Omnia and other Bluetooth devices, such as PCs and cell phones. Although the devices do not require physical connection, they have to be within a range of 30 feet (10 meters). However, these devices do not need to be in direct line of sight. They can be connected even if they are placed in different rooms. You can sync the phone with the computer using Bluetooth.
Instructions "Connection Settings."
4. Select the COM port you had added in Step 2. Also, check the box next to "Allow serial cable connection to this COM port."
5. Click "OK."
6. Drag and drop the Wireless Manager widget -- with the wireless sign -- on to the "Today" screen on your phone.
7. Tap the "Bluetooth Settings" icon.
8. Select "Add New Devices" under the "Devices" tab. Your Samsung Omnia will now look for devices in range and will show you your computer's name in the list. Highlight the name and enter any pass-key -- like 1234 -- to establish the connection. Make sure you enter the same pass-key on the computer.
9. Tap "Yes" when the "Bluetooth ActiveSync" dialog box appears on the phone screen asking: "(Your PC) supports supports synchronizing using Bluetooth. Would you like to designate it as an ActiveSync partner?"
10. Go to the "Start" menu on your phone and select "ActiveSync," "Tools" and "Connect Via Bluetooth." The devices will be then ready to share data.
