You can connect your Verizon Wireless LG Voyager VX10000 to a computer as a tethered modem using the VZ Access Manager software. The Voyager uses a 3G connection, so you won't get broadband speeds, but the connection is available wherever you have a cellular data signal. Because the Voyager only has one antenna, when you are connected to the Internet, incoming calls go to voice mail and you get a voice mail indicator on your screen letting you know you have a message.
Instructions
1. Open a Web browser on the computer that you will want to tether to your Verizon Voyager and navigate to vzam.net/download/supported.aspx
2. Click the download link for your operating system next to the listing for the VX10000. You can find the link in the Handsets section in a list that contains many other LG models.
3. Click the "Open" or "Run" box for the file and then click "Next."
4. Agree to the terms and conditions and then click "Next."
5. Click "Browse" to change the default install location and then click "Next" twice.
6. Click "Finish" to complete the installation. The VZ Access Manager setup wizard should start automatically. If it doesn't, open the program from the Start menu under "All Programs." Click "Next."
7. Choose whether you want VZ Access Manager to detect both Wi-Fi and WWAN, or WWAN only.
8. Click "Next" until you come to a screen asking what type of connection you want to use. Choose "Data Cable" and then click "Next."
9. Plug the USB data cable that came with the Voyager into an available USB port on the computer. Plug the other end of the cable into the charging port on the phone. Click "Next" until you get to the Finished screen. Click "Finish" to complete the setup and launch the VZ Access Manager program.
10. Click the "Connect" tab in the VZ Access Manager window and select "Connect WWAN" to connect to the Internet.
