Muting your phone will often mute your camera's shutter sound.
If you would like to take a picture with your cell phone, but you don't want anyone to know that you are doing it, you can easily turn off the shutter sound on your cell phone's camera.
Instructions
Sounds Menu
1. Open the phone menu.
2. Scroll down to and select "Sounds." If your phone uses profiles to determine your sound settings (such as many Blackberry devices do), then from the menu scroll to "Profiles" and select your profile.
3. Select "Volume."
4. Set the volume to zero. Now your phone will not make any sounds, including the shutter sound when taking a picture.
Hot Keys
5. Determine whether your phone has a mute switch or a volume up and volume down button on the side or top of it.
6. Flip the switch if your phone has a mute switch. All of the sounds on the phone will be muted.
7. Press the bottom volume button repeatedly and view the on-screen display showing the volume level. When the volume level displayed is zero, the phone is muted, and you can then take silent pictures.
