Unlock A Sim Card Without Changing It

A SIM card.

Subscriber Identity Modules---SIM cards---are universally used in cellular phones. The cards hold the subscriber's account data tied to the phone number. Each SIM card has a unique phone number and also a unique unlocking code, called a personal unblocking key code. The PUK code is set at the factory. The PUK code can be used if the subscriber loses a subscriber-set personal identification number, or PIN.

Instructions

1. Obtain the PUK code from the carrier. The carrier is the only one who will have this code. Call the carrier or register at the carrier's website and display the code as part of your account details.

2. Enter a combination of four digits into the phone three times. This will mimic attempts to enter a PIN number. On the third try, the SIM card is programmed to request that you enter the PUK code.

3. Enter the PUK Code. You have 10 opportunities to get this right.

4. Enter a new four digit PIN code after unlocking of the card. You will be prompted to confirm the PIN, so enter the PIN again. The SIM card will have become unlocked and you will have created a new PIN code. All the data, such as phonebook and phone numbers, will be unchanged.
