Connect To The Internet Using Bluetooth

Connect to the Internet anywhere using Bluetooth.

Using Bluetooth technology to connect to the Internet gives you a router at almost any location that has cell phone reception and provides greater mobility. Before you begin setting up a computer to access the Internet through a mobile phone's Bluetooth connectivity, make sure your wireless plan covers the data usage you will use when accessing the Internet through your cell phone.

Instructions

1. Enable Bluetooth on both your cell phone and your computer. On your phone, you should be able to do this from your "Settings" menu. From your computer, access "System Settings" if you use a Mac or "Control Panel" if you use a Window's PC.

2. Open your computer's Bluetooth manager to find available Bluetooth devices within the computer's range. You may need to allow it some time to scan for available devices. Click on your phone's identification and click "Next" or "Continue."

3. Select the options that indicate you want to use your phone as a dial-up Internet connection device. Enter your username, password and dial-up phone number and click "Next" or "Continue."

4. Open an Internet browser and begin surfing the Internet through the Bluetooth connection.
