By synchronizing your BlackBerry 8700-series smart phone with Microsoft Office, or more specifically Microsoft Outlook, you'll have access to your calendar, contacts, memos and tasks stored in Microsoft Outlook. Syncing this information ensures you have the most up-to-date data in both places.
Instructions
Setting Up Your Computer
1. Insert the BlackBerry User Tools CD into your computer's CD drive, then install BlackBerry Desktop Software.
2. Ensure Microsoft Outlook is installed on your computer by selecting "Start" and "All Programs," then finding the Microsoft Office applications in your list of programs.
3. Connect your BlackBerry to your computer using the USB cable.
4. Select "Synchronize" in BlackBerry Desktop Software, and, under the configuration tab, select "Synchronization."
5. Click the "Synchronization" button in the main section of the Synchronization configuration page. Enter your password, if necessary.
6. Select "Microsoft Outlook" from the list of available desktop applications in BlackBerry Desktop Software, then select "Next."
7. Select the synchronization directions you want for the data, then select "Next."
8. Select the Outlook profile to sync, select "Next," and then select "Finish." Disconnect your BlackBerry from your computer.
Synchronizing Your Data
9. Connect your BlackBerry to your computer with the USB cable. Once it's connected, BlackBerry Desktop Software opens.
10. Enter your password, if necessary.
11. Accept or reject any new edits displayed in the synchronization pop-up window.
