Theme Diy Software For The N73

Nokia N73 is a Symbian S60 third-edition smart phone. It comes with several default themes and allows you to add more to the library by downloading or making them yourself. Nokia has its own DIY theme software application called Carbide, which you can use to create a package of graphics and audio to replace the default look of your Nokia N73.

Instructions

1. Download the latest version of Carbide on your computer (see Resources). When you go to Nokia's theme-making Web page, click the "Download Carbide" button and save the installer on the desktop.

2. Run the installer by double-clicking it. Then follow the on-screen instructions to set up the application.

3. Navigate to "Start," "Programs," "Carbide," or launch the application by double-clicking its shortcut on the desktop.

4. Click the "New" button, and select "N73" from the list of devices.

5. Click the "Choose File" button to select images for your theme. You have to upload several images for the idle background, active background, wallpaper, background for applications and background for pop-up windows.

Make sure the images you upload are not overlapping and do not affect readability.

6. Pick an icon package from the available templates. Different template styles and colors are available, and you can select the one that goes with your theme.

7. Add virtual buttons, scroll bars, dim lists, menu screens, email pop-up, calendar, status bars and clock icon. All these components can be selected from the available templates or uploaded from images on your computer.

8. Click "Save" when the theme is ready. You can save the file on your desktop.

9. Connect your Nokia N73 to the PC via USB data cable, and transfer the theme to the phone.
