Remove Wap From A Mobile Phone

Disable WAP on your mobile account to save money on your bill.

Removing WAP from your cellphone means that you are disabling the phone's Internet connection. WAP is short for "Wireless Access Protocol" and refers to the protocol that your mobile phone uses to connect to the Internet. You can remove WAP from your phone by disabling the Internet service on your account and removing the data setting from your phone.

Instructions

1. Dial "611" and press "Send" on your cellphone. You'll be connected to your mobile carrier's customer service line. Inform the agent that you want to disable your phone's Internet service. The agent may quote you a new billing amount for your monthly service, as most providers charge a fee for mobile Internet access. Ask about your new monthly charge if the agent does not give you this information.

2. Remove the Internet connection data on your phone. For example, if you are using a Windows Mobile phone, click "Start," "Settings," "GPRS" and then highlight the "Data" connection. Click "Menu" and "Delete."

3. Restart your mobile phone. Press and hold the "Power" button for several seconds until the phone shuts off. Power the device back on by holding the "Power" button for several seconds.
