A Nokia Nuron cellphone can freeze for a variety of reasons. The phone may freeze due to a need to perform a software update or reformat a memory card. Before sending your phone in for repair, you have a few troubleshooting options for your phone.
Software Updates
The Nokia Nuron may freeze if the software on the phone needs to be updated. As a Nuron user, it is a good idea to check for and install new updates periodically. Before updating your phone, plug it into a charger. Press "Menu" and tap "Applications." Tap "SW Update" and the phone searches for new software. After installing the update, restart the Nuron.
Memory Card
An incorrectly formatted memory card can cause the Nuron cellphone to freeze. Press "Menu" and tap "Applications." Tap "Office," and then tap "File Mgr." Tap "Options," and then tap "Memory Card Options." Tap "Format Memory Card." When the card is reformatted, all of the data stored on it is erased. If the phone continues to freeze after reformatting, remove it and see if the phone continues freezing.
Applications
If the Nuron freezes when you access an app, the easiest way to resolve the issue is to uninstall the app. Press "Menu" from the phone's home screen and tap "Settings." Tap "Application Mgr," and then tap "Installed Apps." Highlight the app to remove and tap "Options." Tap "Uninstall," and then tap "Yes" to confirm its removal. You can reinstall the app if you desire from the location from which you originally installed it.
Factory Restore
A last step for troubleshooting a Nuron cellphone that freezes is a factory restore. The restore erases all the data on the phone. Before restoring the phone, back up all the data you want to keep. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings and Phone." Tap "Phone Mgmt," and then tap "Factory Settings." The cellphone restarts to complete the restore. If it continues to freeze, contact your mobile service provider for further assistance.
