Upgrade Windows In Gps

Instead of placing the entire, resource-heavy version of the program on a small device, Windows-based global positioning systems use a special version of the operating system known as Windows CE (Compact Edition). Updating the OS may not provide much difference in the outward operation of the device, but it does keep it running at its highest ability by fixing errors and keeping operation information up to date. Upgrading Windows CE is much like any other Windows upgrade, just a little slower.

Instructions

1. Plug the GPS into a computer with Internet access by using the USB connector cable. A USB cable should have come in the box with the GPS.

2. Press "Start" on the GPS and select "Windows Update." If there is no such option, use the software's search bar and type in "Windows Update" or "Windows Upgrade" and press "Enter."

3. Click on "Check for Updates" to begin searching through the computer for the latest version of the operating system.

4. Select "Windows CE" as the operating system for the device and click on "Install Updates."

5. Keep the GPS connected until the computer indicates that the operation is complete.
