The HP Compaq T5730 Thin Client is a miniature server that runs Windows 2000 Server Terminal Services or Citrix Presentation Server, depending on the specific configuration. A server runs on a computer and provides services to client computers on a network. Many times the server program and computer running it are referred to as a server interchangeably.
Processor
The processor in a computer is required to carry out all instructions as they are sent through the computer. The T5730 includes the AMD Sempron 2100+ processor, operating at 1.0 gigahertz (GHz).
Memory
The T5730 includes 1 gigabyte (GB) of DDR-2 memory to allow more multitasking capabilities on the PC. There are 32 megabytes (MB) of this 1 GB reserved to process the video.
Connection
The T5730 also includes the option to connect to the Internet through the Broadcom 4311BG 802.11 B/G Wi-Fi adapter integrated in the computer. Alternatively, use a standard Ethernet CAT-5 cable to connect to a high-speed connection through the RJ-45 port.
Display and Audio
The graphics are processed through the ATI Radeon X1250 graphics chipset, supporting a maximum resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels up to 32-bit color. It also includes 1/8-inch full 16-bit speakers.
Ports
Many devices can be plugged into the Thin Client at once, with eight USB ports spread between the front and back. It also includes a port to plug in a PCI or PCI express card.
