Format The Memory On A Nokia 5300 Phone

Reset your Nokia handset with a simple code.

The Nokia 5300 is also known as the Xpressmusic phone. This phone supports various types of media such as audio, video and picture files. If one of these files becomes corrupt, it can cause the phone to work less effectively or sometimes lock up completely. One way of troubleshooting a phone is to format the memory. All Nokias can be reset to factory settings by using a simple code. Be aware, though, that you'll lose all data on the phone by doing this.

Instructions

1. Connect your phone to a charger and wait for the battery to fully charge.

2. Unlock your phone and tap the keypad icon.

3. Enter the following code - *#7370# - and press the call button.

4. Enter your security code to confirm the reset and your phone will turn off. Once the reset process is finished, your phone will automatically turn back on. This should take approximately 3 minutes.
