Nokia cell phones, including the 6630, are easy to unlock, provided you have the correct unlock code. You can usually obtain the code simply by paying a small fee to a specialized unlocking company. But if you don't want to pay the fee, you'll have to deal directly with your wireless service provider. To get the unlock code from your service provider, you must be an eligible customer. The eligibility criteria vary from company to company; T-Mobile, for instance, provides unlock codes if the customer has had an active account for 60 days or more.
Instructions
1. Contact the customer service department of your wireless service provider. You can find the contact number listed on the company website.
2. Notify the company representative that you want to unlock your Nokia 6630. You will most likely be asked to disclose the reason for having the phone unlocked. Give the phone's IMEI number to the company rep. You can find the IMEI by typing "*#06#" on the keypad.
3. Wait a couple of days for your network provider to generate the unlock code and send it to you.
4. Turn off the phone and take out its SIM card. Turn on the phone again.
5. Type "#PW+CODE+1#." Your phone's screen will now display the message "SIM Restriction Off."
