Phones are getting more elaborate, but aren't always easy to customize.
The Nokia N96 phone offers an array of features and content, but it isn't perfect. It has the ability to play music and video and to take pictures. It allows you to browse the Internet and transfer any files from your computer. Despite all its capabilities, it isn't as easy to customize as you might like. If you want to change the font, there isn't an easy way to do that on your own. To change the font, you'll need to download freeware like FontRouter LT or similar freeware font applications for phones.
Instructions
1. Download a package like FontReader LT onto your N96 phone's memory card. This application package is available for free online.
2. Open the X-Plore application on your phone. Create a folder in "C:\Data\" on your phone and call it "Fonts." Open the folder so you are in "C:/Data/Fonts."
3. Use X-plore to locate the file "fontrouter.ini" in "E:/Data/Fonts." Move this file to "C:/Data/Fonts."
4. Open the fontrouter.ini file in X-Plore. Search for the following phrase:
";Extra font files to be loaded
ExtraFontFile=\Data\Fonts\*.*"
5. Locate the phrase and change the text to:
";Extra font files to be loaded
ExtraFontFile=C:\Data\Fonts\*.*"
6. Exit X-Plore and save the file. Make sure to use the "Save" function and not "Save As."
7. Copy the font files you want to use to "C:\Data\Fonts." Font files end in a ".ttf" extension. You may download new fonts or copy fonts over from files on your computer.
8. Restart your phone. On restarting, the fonts should be ready to use and available under "Card Reader & Mass Storage" or "Data Transfer."
