The Nokia 3110 is typically sold with a carrier lock that prevents you from using the phone with another cellular service provider's Subscriber Identity Module, or SIM. You can, however, unlock your Nokia 3110 so that you can use the phone with any compatible cellular communications service provider. To unlock your phone, you will need an unlock code which you can either obtain from your current cellular service provider or purchase from a third-party reseller.
Instructions
1. Obtain the unlock code for your Nokia 3110. Request the code from your current cellular service provider. If your current service provider will not give you the unlock code, you can also purchase the code from a company that resells unlock codes for cellular phones.
2. Remove the SIM card from your Nokia 3110. Remove the phone's back cover and battery. You will find the SIM card under the phone's battery. Replace the phone's battery and back cover and power on the phone.
3. Enter "#pw+CODE+1#" using your phone's keypad. When entering this sequence, replace the "CODE" portion of the sequence with the unlock code for your phone. You have now successfully unlocked your Nokia 3110.
