The instructions for operating cell phones vary between manufacturers and phone models. Some phones have a "Power" button, while others require you to push the "Talk" or "Call" button to turn the phone on. The Nokia 5300 has a "Power" button, which makes the process of turning it on fairly straightforward, although there are a couple of things you'll need to do if you haven't used the phone before.
Instructions
1. Push the battery cover release button on the back to access the battery compartment. You'll need to do this if you haven't installed the battery in your Nokia 5300.
2. Insert the battery into the compartment with the battery terminals pointed away from the camera lens. Snap the Nokia 5300's battery cover back on.
3. Plug the battery charger into the port on the top edge of the phone. Plug the other end into a wall outlet. Let the battery charge for three hours prior to turning the phone on for the first time.
4. Inspect the top edge of the Nokia 5300. Next to the USB port, you'll see the "Power" button. Push and hold the power button for two seconds to turn the phone on.
