Hacking your Glyde phone means unlocking the unit so that you can use it with other service providers besides Verizon. The service provider information is stored in the unit's SIM (subscriber identity module) card, which is located in the battery compartment. You can enter a code into your phone to unlock this SIM card.
Instructions
1. Open the Internet browser on your computer and navigate to a site that offers unlock codes for the Glyde. All sites will charge for an unlock code.
2. Slide the battery door off of the rear of your Glyde and remove the battery. Locate the IMEI number printed on the battery label.
3. Enter the IMEI number into the information box on the unlock code website.
4. Enter your payment information and email address and confirm the purchase of the unlock code. The website will then generate an unlock code specifically for your phone and send the number to your email address.
5. Open your email and note the unlock code. Replace the battery in your Glyde and turn the phone on.
6. Use the keypad to enter the unlock code and press "Send." Your phone will then unlock. You can now remove the Verizon SIM card from the battery compartment and replace it with a another card from a different service provider.
