Make A Free Voice Mail

Get voicemail, no strings attached.

Voicemail is a necessity today, whether you need it for issues regarding your job or simply to keep in contact with all of your family members and closest friends. If you want to get voicemail but do not want to have to pay for it, you can easily do so for free. A quick Internet search will list a variety of complimentary voicemail services from which to choose.

Instructions

1. Search for an Internet-based free voicemail service that offers features that you like. One example of a free voicemail service provider is the La Jolla, California-based GoVoGo Voicemail (www.govogo.com). GoVoGo Voicemail provides enhanced voicemail that is completely free. No contracts are necessary for the service, and you also do not need to have a credit card in order to sign up.

2. Sign up for free voicemail. Go online and access the website for GoVoGo. Click on "sign-up." Fill out all of the necessary information, which includes your first and last names, your cell phone number, your email address and the mailbox PIN you would like to use. Also indicate the manner in which you would like to be alerted regarding new incoming voicemail messages. If you wish to not receive any notification at all, that choice also is available. Then, select "create a mailbox."

3. Check your email. GoVoGo will instantly send you a confirmation email that you have set up a mailbox. The message will contain the assigned number of your mailbox. To keep the mailbox active, take action as soon as possible and record your personal voicemail greeting. For example, record "My name is Jessica Smith. I am not currently available, so please leave me a message. Thanks, and have a wonderful day." Create this message within one day of signing up for the free voicemail service, otherwise your mailbox will expire.

4. Make a phone call to your assigned number. The number is provided to you within the confirmation message, and starts with the 858 area code. Upon receiving a voicemail answer, press "0." After the system instructs you to put in your PIN number. After completing that task you will hear instructions to begin recording your personalized greeting.

5. Begin using your free voicemail service. Give the assigned phone number out to all of your friends, family members and coworkers. GoVoGo allows users to access voicemails through the Internet, even when they are abroad. Other benefits associated with the service include receiving emailed voicemail messages directly, permanent storage of messages within your email inbox and missed call forwarding.
