If you have purchased your cell phone from a second-hand source, the device may be locked. However, you can now unlock you device quickly and free of charge due to the increasing number of websites that are offering unlock codes and instructions.
Instructions
1. Key in "*#06#" on your cell to obtain your IMEI number. Write it down. Call Nokia and ask for an unlock code. The representative will ask you for your IMEI number before giving you a code. It's likely that they will provide you with a new unlock code free of charge, but in some cases they will refuse.
2. Browse some of the following online directories for free Nokia 3220 unlock codes: yell.com, thomsonlocal.com and 192.com. Enter "Nokia 3220 unlock codes" into the search field. While many sites offer you unlock codes for a price, there is no guarantee that these codes will even work. Just a quick browse of a few of these directories will provide you with a handful of unlock codes to try out.
3. Key in a special sequence to unlock your phone. The sequence for this is largely the same for all Nokia phones. Type "#pw+CODE+1#," where "CODE" is the unlock code you've acquired. To input "P," press "*" three times. To get "P," press "*" four times. To get "+," press "*" twice. Your Nokia 3220 will say "SIM Restriction off."
