Pair A Bluetooth Headset And A Nokia Cell Phone

You'll need to put your headset in pairing mode during setup.

Using a Bluetooth headset with your Nokia cell phone gives you the ability to talk hands-free -- a handy feature, especially while on the road. If your Nokia phone is Bluetooth enabled, it will work with almost any wireless headset. Pairing the two devices allows them to communicate with one another anytime they are within range (about 33 feet for most Bluetooth products.) Typically, you will only need to complete the pairing process once. Be sure to charge your headset fully and leave it powered off before you begin.

Instructions

1. Press your Nokia's "Menu" key and select "Settings." Choose "Connectivity." Choose "Bluetooth" to open the Bluetooth options screen.

2. Turn your Bluetooth on.

3. Press and hold the "Call Control" button or "On/Off" button (depending on your headset model), located on the front of your Bluetooth. Release the button after several seconds when the indicator lights either flash rapidly or remain solidly lit (depending on model.) The headset is now in pairing mode.

4. Press "Options" on your phone's Bluetooth menu. Select "Paired Devices." Press "Options" and choose "New Paired Device." Your Nokia will search for the headset -- this may take several seconds.

5. Select the name of your headset from the "Devices Found" list. Enter the Bluetooth headset's passkey when prompted -- "0000" for most types of headsets. Press "OK" and choose "Yes" if prompted to confirm. Choose "Yes" to connect automatically and complete pairing.
