Replace A Phone Battery Bt446

Your Uniden BT-446 may outlive the phone but can be replaced if it doesn't.

The Uniden BT-446 is a rechargeable cordless telephone battery. It is used in more than 120 Uniden cordless telephone models. Most owners get three to five years of battery life before it needs to be replaced. The length of time depends on usage. Uniden sells BT-446 replacement batteries through its parts department. Other vendors also supply the battery and it is critical that any replacement battery has the correct form factor (size), polarity, connector and the exact BT-446 voltage.

Instructions

1. Remove the battery cover from your phone.

2. Remove the battery from the battery compartment far enough to give yourself enough room to unplug the battery connector from the handset. This is a two-wire (black/red) male connector that must be disconnected from the handset's female counterpart. When disconnected, remove the battery completely and set it aside.

3. Connect the new battery's two-wire connector by pressing it into the female connector on the handset. This connector will only fit one way. Do not force the connector or you may cause damage to the battery or the handset.

4. Complete the connector placement and place the battery into the battery compartment in the handset.

5. Replace the cover on the handset and then place the handset in the charging cradle to start charging the replacement battery.
